Earl Neilsen, aka Bumkin, has been a children’s entertainer for over 20 years.
During that time, he has released 2 children’s albums and has been nominated
twice for the TSA Songwriter Children’s Song of the Year at Tamworth.
He was
also a student of the Pioneer Valley School of Dance, where they nurtured his
love of performing.
Currently, Earl teaches Conservation Land Management
and is an avid recreational fisherman who participates in the Mackay Area
Fishing Stocking Association (MAFSA) release of thousands of fingerlings in the
local area.
Earl was born and raised in the beautiful Pioneer Valley, the majestic
Teemburra Dam is in his backyard.

FACTS

  1. Teemburra Dam is an impoundment located in the
    beautiful Pioneer Valley west of Mackay, Queensland,
    Australia.
  2. In impoundments like Teemburra Dam, Barramundi are
    released as male fingerlings, staying male until they
    reach saltwater, becoming female to breed.
  3. In fresh water, Barramundi have a metallic grey
    appearance, turning shiny chrome in salt water.
  4. Dame Nellie Melba is a famous opera singer who lived in
    the Pioneer Valley. Her house has now been turned into
    a museum known as Melba House.
